Cores
The Botanical Dietary Supplements Research Center consists of three research cores. Together the three cores assist project researchers in their study of botanicals, by providing assistance in study design, creating botanical extracts for use in research, producing animal models for use in studies, and assisting with statistical analyses once data has been collected.

Pennington Biomedical Research Center's John S. McIlhenny Laboratory for Botanical Dietary Supplements Research is an integral resource for the cores. Through a grant from the Coypu Foundation, the BDSRC has built a state-of-the-art laboratory devoted to pre-clinical screening of botanical compounds for potential use in humans.
